[Remus is trying to puzzle out what Regulus' costume is. It looks like something he'd wear anyway, but there must be more to it than just dressing up nice.]

Think Lily and I broke his poor little heart. What about yours? Did you misread the dress code on the invitation?

Remus is honestly a little flabbergasted for a moment, and he lets out a scoff of a laugh.]

You should have let me know, I could have gone as Nick instead. [A pause.] Or Daisy.

[ His lips twist a little, but the look of it is pleasant enough. ]

What, and ruin the surprise and your clever joke on my brother? I think things turned out all right. [ And then he smiles a little more easily. ] Next time, yeah?

[Of course he'd caught the darker humor in Regulus' costume choice, but he's chosen to not let it dull the mood. It's been a good party, even with Sirius' exaggerated sulking.]

Excellent. Next year, we'll come up with something for all three of us. You, me, and Lily. It'll drive him up the wall.

I do so love driving him up the wall, as you well know. [ He still seems quite all right with the darker humor, but he doesn't mind glossing over it as well. It is what it is, and joking is better than dwelling. ]

I'm sure we can come up with something good, since we've a whole year to plan.
