"No," Regulus says, firm. "You're always first and best. Nothing can ever change that."

It's clear he means it. He really, truly does. "I'll never let you get away with saying you're not. Remember, we've had a lot of practice at this." And it's true.

"Thanks, Reggie," he replies appreciatively, "'m gonna-- Need to process this, mm?"

And maybe to drink away his sorrows.
